The 2014 event, now in its fourth year, will take place from Friday 27 June until Sunday 13 July, in a variety of town centre locations. The festival, supported by Rugby First and Rugby Borough Council, provides a platform to showcase Rugby and the surrounding areas rich and diverse culture, including music, dance, art, theatre, comedy, poetry, literature, walks, food and drink.
To project manage, develop, deliver, promote and evaluate a ‘Festival of Culture’ for Rugby that increases footfall and spend and raises the profile of the town both locally and within a 30 minute drive of the centre. Additional income streams to be identified and secured.
Over 50 events involving a wide variety of people, groups and organisations at over 30 venues providing a high quality programme that increased footfall and spend within the town centre and generated considerable media interest prior to and during the festival. Majority of events sold out with excellent feedback. Festival on-budget with the number of sponsors increased and income target for sponsorship and advertising exceeded.
“ I have worked for many years in the commercial sector and on very few occasions have my expectations been exceeded but I’m delighted to say that the work of Unlimited Communications on the Rugby Festival of Culture has been one of them” Robin Richter, Managing Director of Rugby First
